About organic cultivation, Kirishima district in Kagoshima pref

The Kirishima district is located in the northern part of Kagoshima prefecture.
They have many fields where are scattered in mountainous areas of altitude 200-400m and green tea cultivation is carried out. The average temperature is lower than the plains, the environment with the temperature difference of the day and night gives moderate stress to the tea tree. This would help to grow the tea leaves with good aroma and flavor.
Also, because of the environment surrounded by mountains, it is clearly distinguished from the field of general cultivation.
It is not affected by Pesticide drift etc. It is easy to construct a biological ecosystem with adjacent forests.
There is an environment more suitable for organic cultivation. Furthermore, it is also useful that the risk of occurrence of pests is lower than that of plains, due to the temperature difference between day and night as I mention earlier.

Points of manufacturing method

Tencha which would be a raw ingredient of tea ceremony is made without JYU-NEN (Rolling) tea leaves in a furnace made of bricks or a production line dedicated to tea manufacturing. By drying them at high temperature after steaming, the tea leaves would be finished with a characteristic aroma.

The 1st. Flush and Autumn Harvest

Tencha (green tea), which would be a raw material of Matcha has a lot of sweetness and a mild taste. 'Ichibancha: 1st.Flush' which has the characteristic of vivid green color and 'Autumn Harvest' with a pleasant astringent are used.
